Hasbara Fellowship

The Hasbara Fellowship brings hundreds of students to Israel every summer and winter, giving them the information and tools to return to their campuses as educators about Israel. Hasbara Fellows receive support and access to various campaigns, programs, speakers and other materials and tools to create Pro-Israel awareness on campus through connections about positive information given by the fellow to the campus community.

Outcomes for the Fellows Include:

  • Hands-on experience with developing program ideas and managing a budget
  • Working with experienced Hasbara professionals
  • Leadership, public speaking and networking skills
  • Tools to become a advocate for Israel and the larger Pro-Israel community
  • Meeting with key Israeli leaders and thinkers

Students are eligible for the Hasbara Fellowship if:

  • They will be on campus for at least two semesters after acceptance to the Fellowship
  • They are active in the Pro-Israel campus community

Fellows will be expected to:

  • Participate in a 16-Day trip to Israel engaging in advocacy training at a cost of $400 (subsidies may be available)
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Stony Brook Israel Fellow
  • Utilize the campaigns provided by Hasabara
  • Network with other Hasbara Fellows and Israel Interns at Stony Brook and elsewhere
