Hi, I'm Rachel Chabin, and I'm a junior with a double major in Spanish Literature and Political Science. I'm currently secretary of the Hillel student club and was involved as a general board member last year. I belong to the religious programming committee and have helped to run various educational and social events at Hillel, including discussion groups, Shabbat events, and Israel programming. If you ever have questions about Hillel (or any other topics), feel free to reach out!
Hello! My name is Sarah Levovitz and I am this year’s Hillel treasurer. I am currently a sophomore in the WISE honors program. I am majoring in biomedical engineering with a minor in studio art. When I came to Stony Brook last year, I felt so welcomed by everyone at Hillel. Now that I am a board member, I want to make all new people at Hillel feel as welcomed as I was. Being a part of Hillel feels like being part of a family, and I want as many people to join our family as possible. I’m so excited for all of our upcoming events. I hope to see you soon!
My name is Sam Novotny, and I am a junior biology major on the pre-med track. I’m from Dix Hills and live on campus. When I joined Hillel, I immediately found friends and a home away from home. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and running some great events throughout the year!
Hey everyone! I'm Lucy, a junior Coastal Environmental Studies major with an Environmental Design, Planning, and Policy minor. I'm a part of the Women in Science and Engineering program (WISE) and a tuba player for the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching/Pep Band. I look forward to working with everyone, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
Hi, I'm Steven! I'm a junior majoring in applied mathematics and statistics looking to merge into the field of economics. I grew up on Long Island and spent most of my life living in the Port Jefferson area. My hobbies include playing video games, riding my bike, and playing the guitar.
My name is Debbi Moalemi! I am a Junior, Psychology B.S. major on the Pre-med track, and I am from Great Neck. My interests include singing and acting, and of course, going to Hillel. My favorite part of Hillel is the incredibly warm and open atmosphere that we have, and the fact that we share something so great with whoever wants to come; everyone is welcome. If you have any questions or just want to talk, let me know!
As an electrical engineering major (from Great Neck), I know how stressful stony brook can get. I’ve been in Hillel for one semester and this is my perspective: We’re a bunch of cool peeps who like chilling and having fun! I like long walks on the beach, puppies, talking about my feelings, and memes, so come through!
My name is Aymon Faizi. I am a junior majoring in Chemistry with a concentration in biology and a minor in applied mathematics. I wanted to join the Hillel board because I grew up in a Jewish neighborhood, as a child seeing this culture that is so vastly different from mine fascinated me. So I want to further my understanding of the Jewish culture and the beauty of it and help spread it around campus.
Hi, my name is Victor Allaham. I’m a freshman from Brooklyn, and I’m still undecided about my major. I grew up Jewish and wanted to continue in that path, so I joined Hillel. Some of my hobbies include baseball, watching Netflix, and sleeping. Looking forward to meeting everyone who comes through to Hillel!
Hi! My name is Morgan and I am a transfer junior psychology major. I’m from Valley Stream, NY and I spend a lot of time in Queens. I love learning new languages so if you’re willing to teach me, I’m willing to learn! Also love drinking iced coffee or tea and you can most likely find me hanging out in the Hillel office.
