Hi, my name is Arielle! It's crazy to think this is my senior year. What astonishes me when I look back on the past three years is that I am able to track my own experiences and growth through the time I've spent with Hillel. In my Sophomore year I organized the Israeli Fashion Show, which taught the history of Israel through the changes in fashion. In my Junior year I created and constructed an Israeli peace-themed arts festival and helped bring the Startup Nation High Tech Fair, a panel and networking program, to Stony Brook University. There are other smaller events, but no less important, that I have been a part of over the years. My favorite events will always be the Shabbat dinners, where everyone gathers around and relaxes and laughs and eats together. University is a place where you grow and learn how to be an adult and what you (sort of) want from life. I won't be the person I am today without Hillel. I've found career opportunities, learning opportunities, and the greatest friends I could have ever asked for because of my time spent with Hillel. The beautiful part is there's no audition, we're open to everyone! I hope that I'll be meeting you soon!

What is your favorite Hillel memory?
Every moment at Hillel has really been incredible for me. But as far as my favorite one, it would have to be when I walked in on transfer student day and I was welcomed with open arms by everyone! It was so amazing to know that I was accepted right off the bat after not knowing what to expect, and it has made me want to continue to help provide that to new students that come to explore our club!
Hi, I'm Rachel Chabin, and I'm a junior with a double major in Spanish Literature and Political Science. I'm currently secretary of the Hillel student club and was involved as a general board member last year. I belong to the religious programming committee and have helped to run various educational and social events at Hillel, including discussion groups, Shabbat events, and Israel programming. If you ever have questions about Hillel (or any other topics), feel free to reach out!
Hello! My name is Sarah Levovitz and I am this year’s Hillel treasurer. I am currently a sophomore in the WISE honors program. I am majoring in biomedical engineering with a minor in studio art. When I came to Stony Brook last year, I felt so welcomed by everyone at Hillel. Now that I am a board member, I want to make all new people at Hillel feel as welcomed as I was. Being a part of Hillel feels like being part of a family, and I want as many people to join our family as possible. I’m so excited for all of our upcoming events. I hope to see you soon!
My name is Sam Novotny, and I am a junior biology major on the pre-med track. I’m from Dix Hills and live on campus. When I joined Hillel, I immediately found friends and a home away from home. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and running some great events throughout the year!
Hey everyone! I'm Lucy, a junior Coastal Environmental Studies major with an Environmental Design, Planning, and Policy minor. I'm a part of the Women in Science and Engineering program (WISE) and a tuba player for the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching/Pep Band. I look forward to working with everyone, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
Hi, I'm Steven! I'm a junior majoring in applied mathematics and statistics looking to merge into the field of economics. I grew up on Long Island and spent most of my life living in the Port Jefferson area. My hobbies include playing video games, riding my bike, and playing the guitar.
Hi! My name is Sarah Hersh but you can call me Sary. I’m a Member at Large for Hillel. I’m a junior, studying Biology, and I am from Patchogue, NY. My interests include reading, writing, and looking at dank memes. My favorite part of Hillel are the people and how accepting everyone is. It’s like a family, you meet someone for the first time then it’s like you’ve known them your entire life. I look forward to welcoming many more faces this year.
My name is Debbi Moalemi! I am a Junior, Psychology B.S. major on the Pre-med track, and I am from Great Neck. My interests include singing and acting, and of course, going to Hillel. My favorite part of Hillel is the incredibly warm and open atmosphere that we have, and the fact that we share something so great with whoever wants to come; everyone is welcome. If you have any questions or just want to talk, let me know!
My name is Ellen and I am a Jewish Sophomore! I went to a Jewish high school, so I am familiar with Jewish culture, but we emphasize that everyone is welcome here. We have people from all sorts of background, Jewish or just plain curious. I joined Hillel to remind me of my family, make new friends, and eat good free food. I think it is a great way to get involved! Feel free to contact me at my email address listed above, and I hope to meet you sometime soon
