Hillel at Stony Brook empowers our students to participate in social action and become informed global citizens who serve their communities. We work to create opportunities for students to engage in causes that matter to them.
While social justice is an integral part of Judaism, it is an up-and-coming part of our overall Hillel programming at Stony Brook. We hired a Social Justice Springboard Fellow to help students tap into their specific interests, causes, and passions as well as initiate a wide array of programming and educational opportunities, ranging from dialogues to advocacy campaigns, from direct volunteer opportunities to fundraising for specific causes. Through on-campus and local community partnerships, we work to inspire Jewish students to become part of a larger social justice movement.
