Stony Brook Hillel is charged with the mission of empowering the next generation of Jewish leadership.  We do so by providing your student with various opportunities to assume leadership roles while here at Stony Brook University. Through innovative and engaging programs, year-long initiatives, Jewish learning, Israel experiences such as Taglit-Birthright Israel, community service and more, Hillel staff and students work together to foster a welcoming, pluralistic Jewish community that caters to students' unique needs.  A typical week with Hillel offers students a free theme-oriented Shabbaton, a Jewish cultural experience, community service program and perhaps most importantly - meaningful time with Jewish peers and Hillel staff.  Hillel truly becomes students' home away from home.

Hillel staff are here to provide your student with thoughtful support as they navigate young adulthood.  The development of young adults' Jewish identity during this period can be pivotal, and this is why we offer a diverse menu of Jewish connectivity for every student.  We strive to create individual Jewish journeys, as every student comes to Stony Brook with a different background and a different set of needs.

You know your student best, so please be in touch and give us your feedback - we would love to hear it.  Welcome to our Hillel family.  If you are interested in becoming involved or in supporting some of our innovative work, please contact Rabbi Topek.
